My client is a leading telecommunications provider and they’re on the lookout for a VoIP Engineer to join their growing team.

As a VoIP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising their VoIP infrastructure to ensure superior call quality and reliability for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining VoIP systems and solutions.
• Investigating call setup and signalling issues to identify and resolve technical problems promptly.
• Performing packet inspection using tools such as Wireshark to troubleshoot and analyse network traffic.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address network-related issues and optimise system performance.
• Developing and documenting best practices, procedures, and guidelines for VoIP system administration.
• Providing technical expertise and support to junior engineers and team members.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience working with VoIP technologies and protocols, including SIP.
• Strong understanding of call setup processes and signalling protocols.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and configurations.
• Proficiency in packet inspection tools such as Wireshark or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VoIP security protocols and best practices.
• Familiarity with session border controllers (SBCs) and VoIP gateways.
• Knowledge of QoS (Quality of Service) principles and techniques.
